Senior Master Mihalek joined ATA in 1988 at the age of 7 in Minot, ND. He moved to Grand Forks in 2001 for college and opened the school under the ownership of Wayne Materi on September 1st, 2002. After running the school for 9 years Senior Master Mihalek took over as owner in 2011. In that same year he earned the title of Master and 8 years later earned the title of Senior Master.

Mrs. Mihalek joined ATA in 2009 at the age of 9 in Casselton, ND (her hometown). Throughout her training, she has competed in countless tournaments and earned various state and district champ titles. After being a student in Casselton for 7 years, she had the opportunity to take over that very club from her sister in 2021 while also helping part-time at the Grand Forks school. In 2022, the club unfortunately closed due to her moving up here to be more involved in this school.
